With the construction sector facing rising pressure around margins, environmental accountability, and workforce wellbeing, the new podcast offers an opportunity to reflect, rethink and learn from those on the ground.
“The tools of the future—AI, BIM, data dashboards—are only part of the picture,” says Colin. “We won’t build anything better without the kind of leadership that creates alignment, clarity and trust. That’s what we’re here to talk about.”
Site Story, a brand-new podcast dedicated to the people, decisions, and leadership behind some of the UK’s most complex construction and infrastructure projects, has officially launched its debut season.
Hosted by Colin Tomlinson—ex-Army officer turned leadership specialist for the built environment—the podcast explores what really happens between strategy and site. From project directors to sustainability leads, each episode dives into the stories, setbacks and surprising moments that shape delivery and culture on major projects.
“We created Site Story because we kept hearing the same thing from our programme participants—‘Why aren’t more of these real conversations happening in the open?’,” says Colin. “We talk about leadership every day on courses, but the podcast is a space to go deeper, with voices across the industry who’ve been there and done it.”
Site Story is available now on all major podcast platforms including:
Apple Podcasts (coming soon)
Episodes are also available on 150cld.co.uk, where listeners can subscribe for updates, transcripts, and bonus material.
New episodes are released bi-weekly, with upcoming guests from across rail, energy, civil engineering and digital construction. Listeners can expect conversations that are honest, reflective, and designed to leave them with practical takeaways they can use on site the next day.
